Barclay Nelson established Birch Capital Management in 2010 to continue a succession of family office investment management dating back to the 1930’s. Barclay and the firm steward an enduring long-term family investment philosophy for the firm’s clients. Barclay leverages his prior experiences in institutional portfolio analysis, mortgage capital markets, private equity real estate, and management consulting to offer thoughtful investment management and client experience. He led the firm to extend this investment management philosophy beyond the founding family to additional investment management and wealth management clients. Barclay earned his bachelor’s degree with a concentration in Finance from the University of Richmond in 1992 and earned an MBA from the University of Texas in 2004. He is a member of Dallas CFA Society; and is a Director of the Nelson Family Trust, The Margaret and Mary Nelson Family Foundation, and the Nelson Charitable Trust. Barclay enjoys spending time with his wife and two young children and fly fishing when time permits.
